Dual Phonetics and Pronunciations

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new feature in Mem-App that enhances your learning experience! Previously, users could see phonetics and play pronunciations for words in American English (en-US) without explicitly knowing it was en-US. With our latest update, you can now access phonetics and pronunciations for both American English (en-US) and British English (en-UK).

What’s New?

  • Dual Phonetics: See phonetic transcriptions in both en-US and en-UK.
  • Dual Pronunciations: Listen to pronunciations in both American and British accents.
  • Spelling Variations: View the US spelling if it differs from the UK spelling of the word.

This update ensures you have a comprehensive understanding of word pronunciations and spelling variations, making your vocabulary learning more robust and versatile.

How It Works

When you look up a word in Mem-App, you will now see two sets of phonetics and two pronunciation icons. Simply click on the icon to hear the word pronounced in either American or British English. If there is a spelling difference between US and UK English, both versions will be displayed.

Why This Matters

Understanding both American and British pronunciations and spellings is crucial for global communication. Whether you’re preparing for exams, writing professionally, or just curious about different dialects, this feature will help you grasp the nuances of English better.

We hope you enjoy this new feature and continue to expand your vocabulary with Mem-App!

Happy learning,

Mem-App
